About CREAM Oakland

CREAM Oakland is for any of us who grew up loving ice cream cookie sandwiches … ok, that’s probably all of us, right? Fortunately, Jimmy and Gus Shamieh took that childhood joy of their mom’s homemade cookies paired with a scoop of ice cream and turned that nostalgic treat into a dessert on steroids.

At CREAM, which stands for “Cookies Rule Everything Around Me,” customers are not just limited to the traditional vanilla ice cream with chocolate cookie pairing. You can now mix and match 23 ice cream flavors with 16 different types of cookies, brownies, churros and do’sants and top it off with more than 17 different toppings making hundreds of sweet combinations. (I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface, but supposedly a U C Berkeley grad student in mathematics says that there are over 2,500 possible combos.)

When the Shamieh brothers opened their first CREAM shop in Berkeley in 2010, it became an instant hit. Now with 29 stores, including the CREAM Oakland, a stop on our Rockridge Ice Cream & Gelato Tour , CREAM is ruling the dessert-iverse!

It’s no surprise to anyone that you can’t help but love an ice cream sandwich. This tasty treat has been around since the turn of the 20th century. But with some modern-day innovation and a lot of fun (think #TacoTuesday) , you, too, can enjoy your own custom designed dessert that fits your tastebuds thanks to CREAM.

Moms are superheroes who deserve to be celebrated every year—but especially this year, as they have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to CBS News , women lost one million more jobs than men during the pandemic, and the year also highlighted the lack of affordable childcare options. Mother’s Day, which falls on Sunday, May 9th this year, couldn’t be a better day to celebrate your mom and give her a special gift to make sure she knows how much you cherish her.
