While I haven’t had the chance to visit, I am so excited to try Rockridge’s latest stop for sushi and Japanese food, Ding Japanese Cuisine.
Personally I’m already a big fan of Mitama , which technically sits in Berkeley (but still is part of the Rockridge neighborhood, IMO). Mitama has a great selection of sushi, including fresh sashimi flown in from the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, Japan ; and a surprisingly wide variety of imported saki. I’m also a fan of Takara , known for it’s sushi-go-round floating boats. Though the sushi is not as good as Mitama, Takara is a great place to bring visiting friends for a casual and fun night out.
I’ll definitely let you know when I do try Ding Japanese Cuisine, but in the meantime, KQED’s Bay Area Bites blog shares their thoughts on this new Rockridge restaurant.
