La Parisienne – :30 Spotlight [VIDEO]

About La Parisienne

La Parisienne is essentially Paris right here in Oakland. As soon as you walk through the door of this nondescript jewel right along Grand Avenue, you feel as though you and your passport have been transported to the City of Lights.

Decorated in simplistic beauty, the main focus of this authentic French patisserie are the pastries and desserts themselves. The eclairs, croissants and individually sized fruit tarts that greet you when you walk in serve as jewels that capture your eye right away. And no matter what time of day you visit, you’ll find a taste that will treat your tastebuds. Need breakfast? Enjoy a croissant. After-dinner dessert? We’d highly recommend the pistachio almond cake. For a just-because anytime snack? Grab one … or maybe two … macaroons!

La Parisienne opened for business in January 2016, immediately bringing a European flair to this urban foodie neighborhood.   As mentioned in Berkeleyside’s NOSH column , “when you visit La Parisienne, “you will feel like you’re in France.” For those who grew up there, the pastries will “take you back to your childhood.”

Guests of our Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine Food Tour get to enjoy the chocolate almond croissant, which is baked right before our group arrives making it such a warm and gooey treat to end the tour.

Recently purchased under new management, La Parisienne continues to provide an exquisite selection of authentic French pastries and desserts that will make your eyes widen and your mouth salivate.

Moms are superheroes who deserve to be celebrated every year—but especially this year, as they have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to CBS News , women lost one million more jobs than men during the pandemic, and the year also highlighted the lack of affordable childcare options. Mother’s Day, which falls on Sunday, May 9th this year, couldn’t be a better day to celebrate your mom and give her a special gift to make sure she knows how much you cherish her.
