Local Food Adventures celebrates its 1000th Rockridge Food Tour guest. New Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine tour starting January 28, 2017

OAKLAND – (November 15) – With the expansion of its third food tour into Oakland’s Grand Lake neighborhood, the Rockridge Food Tour announces today that it is changing its name to Local Food Adventures. The new name emcompasses the company’s ongoing mission to provide a fun East Bay activity that is centered around food and the local community.

“Because of the success with our tours in Rockridge and Grand Lake’s growing restaurant popularity, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to showcase a new neighborhood for Bay Area residents and visitors alike,” Lauren McCabe Herpich, owner of Local Food Adventures , says.

About the Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine Tour

The new Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine tour will be a two-hour guided food tour that includes a walk around beautiful Lake Merritt as well as a “trip around the world” with samplings of some of the area’s best global culinary stops. Tour partners include Oaktown Spice Shop , Barlago Italian Kitchen and La Parisienne . The Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine tour starts Saturday, January 28, 2017 and will be offered Saturdays at 3 pm.

The announcement also comes at a time where the company’s original Rockridge Neighborhood Heritage Tour welcomes its 1000th guest.  Quynh Ngo of Danville joined the tour after winning tickets donated to the Creekside Elementary Comet Fund auction event.

“Reaching this milestone not only means that we provided East Bay locals something fun to do,” Herpich says, “but also that we have helped introduce our guests to the local businesses that make our community the special place that it is.”

Moms are superheroes who deserve to be celebrated every year—but especially this year, as they have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to CBS News , women lost one million more jobs than men during the pandemic, and the year also highlighted the lack of affordable childcare options. Mother’s Day, which falls on Sunday, May 9th this year, couldn’t be a better day to celebrate your mom and give her a special gift to make sure she knows how much you cherish her.
