Local Food Adventures partners with Visit Oakland for annual local food celebration

OAKLAND – (January 5) – Why just enjoy one Oakland restaurant when you can savor up to six delicious food stops at once? Local East Bay food tour company Local Food Adventures is launching its 2018 food tour season with special food tours commemorating Visit Oakland ’s annual Oakland Restaurant Week.

During the 10-day celebration, Local Food Adventures will be joining more than 70 participating restaurants offering unique dining experiences for the first time in addition to the annual tradition of prix fixe menus.

“Oakland has such an amazing food culture right now” Lauren McCabe Herpich, owner of Local Food Adventures, says. “It’s important to support our local restaurants and culinary entrepreneurs. My goal is to introduce guests to a wide variety of tastes and hope they keep coming back to the East Bay throughout the year.”

Rockridge Neighborhood Heritage Food Tour – 3 hours/6 stops
During this three-hour long guided walking tour we’ll share the area’s rich history and explore its fast-growing dining culture—all while enjoying some seriously delicious tastings along the way! Just as appealing to visitors as it is to locals alike—it’s a rare opportunity to learn some little-known facts about the area that may even surprise those who call Rockridge home.

Grand Lake Cultural Cuisine Food Tour – 2 hours/4 stops
Enjoy a culinary tour de force without leaving Oakland! Sample the vast cultural diversity of the Grand Lake area, an urban mecca for global cuisine. Centered around the historic Grand Lake Theater, the area is known for its rich and eclectic influences and population. Our two-hour guided tour will include a walk around beautiful Lake Merritt as well as a trip around the world with delicious tastings of some of the area’s best global dining.

In addition, Local Food Adventures will also be donating a portion of profits to the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
