About Amphora Nueva

Found behind the popular Cooperage restaurant in the La Fiesta Square shopping district of Downtown Lafayette, Amphora Nueva is that hidden treasure that every person who walks in the door is so excited to have finally found. I hate to say that sometimes I often get a puzzled look when I mention that it is part of my Eat Stay Love Lafayette Food Tour. But If I can help spread the word about this culinary gem … well you and your cooking can just thank me for it later.

Amphora Nueva is a specialty shop focused on the finest extra virgin olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars from around the world. It’s owned and operated by a family who has been in the olive oil industry for more than 90 years.  Because of that expertise, the olive oils you’ll find within the shop come directly from farmers all over the world giving you the freshest product you’ll ever find. For instance, you’ll see olive oils with the most recent crush dates based on the season and the hemisphere in which they are sourced. And to make it all easy for you, bottles are all priced the same giving you a great value for your money.

Most likely you’ll find owner and manager Nate Bradley and his team helping customers not only pick the perfect olive oil, but also share the perfect combinations of fused and infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars that honestly just dance in your mouth. My personal favorite combination for summer is the honey ginger white balsamic with the toasted Japanese sesame oil. Just add it to a cabbage salad filled with chicken, carrots, celery and peanuts and you’ve got one heck of a Chinese chicken salad!

And because they’re so awesome, the website provides you with its  top pairings  combinations that I’m sure you’ll just love. You’ll never buy a bottle of salad dressing ever again. Promise!

Moms are superheroes who deserve to be celebrated every year—but especially this year, as they have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to CBS News , women lost one million more jobs than men during the pandemic, and the year also highlighted the lack of affordable childcare options. Mother’s Day, which falls on Sunday, May 9th this year, couldn’t be a better day to celebrate your mom and give her a special gift to make sure she knows how much you cherish her.
